April’s Belt Test (s)

Hello Everyone!

I have been discussing a change in how we do belts tests for a bit of time. I am still getting everything ironed out and appreciate everyone’s patience.

The basic rundown is that each month we will have a small test on specific skills that will lead up to a big test every three months. Every student will have a belt for practice and one for competition. Competition belts will reflect the standard levels (white, adv. white, yellow, adv yellow, green, adv green, blue, adv blue, red, adv red, black), for the class/practice belt, we will have multiple stripes before moving on to the next full belt level.

The big test every three months will encompass everything they have learned and are expected to learn. The monthly bonus tests will be for specific aspects of their level.

This Thursday, at 5:15pm, we are going to test on kicks, blocks, stances, and 8-step.

White belts will need to do:

Front Kicks

Round Kicks (with the front leg)

Side Kicks (with the front leg)

Axe Kicks

Down Blocks in a natural stance

High Blocks in a natural stance

8-Step #1

Adv White Belts will need to do:

Front Kicks

Round Kicks

Side Kicks

Axe Kicks

Back Kicks

Down Blocks in a Natural & Front Stance

High Blocks in a Natural & Front Stance

Middle Blocks in a Natural & Front Stance

8-Step #1,2,3

Adv Green Belts will need to do:

Front Kicks

Round Kicks

Side Kicks

Axes Kicks

Back Kicks

Spin Hooks

Tornado Kicks

Down Blocks in all stances (natural, front, horse, back)

High Blocks in all stances
